Over the last three years, GMX has attracted a notable lineup of featured guests and artists, and 2012 is certainly no exception. GMX has been
hard at work over the last few months recruiting talent for 2012, and we're very excited to begin unveiling the GMX Volume IV talent lineup. From
now through September, GMX will be announcing a featured guest every Monday (or two if by Tuesday)!

To kick off the guest lineup, we're being extra generous and not announcing one, not announcing two, but announcing SIX guests! Yes, folks. The April
showers have passed. The May flowers are popping up, and if those flowers were guests, well, we have a bouqet for you.

First up, GMX is very proud to announce one of the most beloved and noteworthy voice actors of our day, BILLY WEST! Billy West is probably best known for voicing many of the featured characters on the Sci-Fi sensation "Futurama," including series lead Phillip J. Fry, Dr. Zoidberg, Professor Farnsworth and Zap Brannigan among others. West has been quoted that he has recorded many scenes where he's the only actor speaking, speaking to his versatility as a voice actor. Billy is also known for providing the voice of Stimpson "Stimpy" J. Cat (and later Ren Hoek) for the groundbreaking cartoon classic "Ren & Stimpy" and the titular character Doug in Nickelodeon's "Doug." He voiced both Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd for Warner Brother's 1996 box office hit "Space Jam" starring Michael Jordan, and he also provides the voice for Red the M&M in the popular, ongoing series of commercials for the namesake candy.

Doug Walker's first convention appearance was GMX Volume 1 in 2009, and we're very excited to have The Nostalgia Critic once again bringing his no-punches-pulled wit and sharply sardonic sense of humor to Music City. Doug Walker's website, thatguywiththeglasses.com has become a veritable powerhouse of geek opinion and satire. Welcome back, WEB guest Doug Walker!

What do you get when a talented artist at age 29 teams up with his (then) 5 year old sibling as creative mastermind to produce an original webcomic? You get the unbridled genius of Ethan Nicolle and his young brother Malachai, and you call it "Axe Cop." Axe Cop follows the adventures of an axe-wielding cop as he tackles challenges far greater than speeding motorists and jaywalking pedestrians, challenges like rescuing a child from a zombie dog woman, helping Bat Warthog Man find his friends, or babysitting. You get the picture. Axe Cop has been published in print form by Dark Horse press. On April 24, 2012, it was announced that Fox would adapt Axe Cop for an animated series of the same name for its new Saturday late-night animation block serving as a complement to its popular Sunday-night Animation Domination block in the 2013-2014 season. File this one under WEB and COMIC with a side of TOON! In addition to his work on Axe Cop, Ethan is the creator of Slave Labor Graphics "Chumble Spuzz," and Ethan is an active writer who has pitched various animated series for network development. Welcome, Axe Cop artist Ethan Nicolle!

Fans of animation are in for a real treat this year, as GMX has drawn a bevy of artists and voice actors affiliated with the animation industry. In that regard, we are happy to announce the very affable voice actor Amber Nash. Amber Nash provides the voice of the eccentric HR Director Pam Poovey on the animation sensation "Archer" on the FX Network, which will be entering its fourth season this fall. Amber has also appeared on Aqua Unit Patrol Squad (Aqua Teen Hunger Force) and is actively engaged in live theater. Welcome, TOON guest Amber Nash!

DICE guest Jamie Chambers returns for GMX Volume IV! A veteran game designer and creator, Jamie has penned guides and modules for WotC's Dungeons & Dragons, and has also penned adaptations of many popular genre series including the Supernatural RPG and the Serenity RPG (Whedonites, take note!). Jamie is currently rolling out original creations through Signal Fire Studios, including the upcoming release Building an Elder God strategic card game, inspired by the lore of H.P. Lovecraft. In addition to his work in game design, Jamie serves as the Vice President of the Game Manufacturers Association (GAMA).

And last, but certainly not least, for fans of alternative historical content (CHRON programming) and costuming/props (FX), GMX wouldn't be GMX without an appearance by those stately, swashbuckling seekers of the supernatural, The Apparition Abolishers. In 2011, they brought an exceptional exhibit to GMX, and we certainly anticipate an even more extravagant and audacious show from our anarchronistic allies and hometown heroes, the Apparition Abolishers. A hearty welcome, Apparition Abolishers!

GMX VOL IV ROOM BLOCK IS GO!
BY: GMX News 04/28/2012
GMX Volume IV will be taking place at the prestigious Franklin Marriott adjoining the spacious Cool Springs Conference Center. Those who have attended GMX in prior years know that the night life is where it is at and day-tripping just doesn't hold a candle to staying onsite to truly experience the Geek Media Expo in all of its diurnal AND nocturnal glory! Not unlike the Doctor's T.A.R.D.I.S., we like to think that GMX is bigger on the inside than on the outside. So with that, we are proud to roll out the specially discounted GMX room rate link. Be sure to reserve your room today, because one the rooms are sold out, well, it's back to day-tripping for ya! To reserve your room, GO HERE.

In addition to our standard rooms, those groups and brave individuals who would like to participate in this year's Room Party Rumble, we have a special treat for you. This year, the Franklin Marriott has afforded an ENTIRE FLOOR for use as the 2012 GMX Entertainment Floor. What that means is that, if you want to throw a room party, we've reserved an entire floor (the Fourth Floor to be exact) for this year's theme parties! No longer will you be required to stumble...er...meander through the venue from floor to floor seeking room parties. Reserve your room on the fourth floor, decorate, and the party block will be ready to rock! To reserve your Entertainment Floor party room, GO HERE.

There's No Place Like Home!

GMX Volume 3 was a great success last year; your overwhelming, positive comments made that very clear! That being said, we always strive to make our fans happy and produce an exceptional show, and we have to to keep a close eye on fan feedback to make that happen. You have spoken, we have listened, and it is with great pleasure that we announce Geek Media Expo Volume 4 has a new home, folks! A bigger home. A home that may be familiar to some and new to others. A home with much more ample parking! This October, GMX Volume 4 will be making ourselves at home at the Cool Springs Conference Center, with onsite accommodations at the Franklin Marriott the weekend of October 26-28! We feel the perfect con weekend is just before Halloween. After all, who wouldn't want to attend the biggest and best costume party in town?

Adjoining the Franklin Marriott,
the Cool Springs Conference Center may be familiar to long-standing MTAC attendees as the convention site in 2007. Located minutes south of downtown in the Greater Nashville area, the Franklin Marriott brings with it over 29,000 square feet of exhibition and meeting space! Additionally, this new venue is surrounded by great restaurants to keep you fueled during the show and even provides an indoor, saline pool for some relaxing downtime while on site.

We really appreciate your feedback every year, and we are very excited to bring you more of what you asked for! We have more dealer and panel space! More parking! More dining options! More communal, "hang-out" areas! More everything, and we can't wait to get this show to each and every one of you! It will be a great year, and it's all because of you. More information on room rates and reservation information to come; as always, grab your tickets early!
